About Us

Turkcell Technology has been established in 2007 with the focus of R&D and innovation in Information and Communication Technologies. Foundation of Turkcell Technology is based on 15+ years experience of Turkcell. Today Turkcell Technology provides services and solutions to 100+ million customers in many countries.

In 2013 Turkcell Technology earned R&D center license from the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of Turkey. With 1200+ researchers, Turkcell Technology is one of the largest R&D centers among ICT based companies in Turkey.

Our R&D center is conducting research on emerging technologies and achievements are being commercialized by novel products, services and solutions. Turkcell Technology also participates in European collaborative research programs and holds board membership for ITEA and CELTIC clusters of Eureka program.

R&D Projects

Academic knowhow in universities has potential to solve problems that are faced by the industry. Collaborative research projects, where the academic and industrial vision comes together, has a positive impact for innovation environment.

Public R&D funding programs in Turkey and Europe are valuable collaboration opportunities. Collaboration projects between Turkcell Technology and Universities are mostly under the scope of these publicly funded programs.

On-Site PhD Program

Turkcell Technology executes On-Site Masters and PhD program with Turkey’s most prestigious universities since 2014. Researchers at Turkcell Technology R&D center, can apply for Computer Engineering and Industrial Engineering Departments of the partner university. Lectures are taken by our researchers at the classrooms in Turkcell Technology R&D center premises.

By the end of the program Turkcell Technology aims at deepening the knowledge and expertise of its researchers and also to initiate new research projects with the universities.

Trainings & Conferences

Expert researchers of Turkcell Technology R&D Center regularly participates in trainings and conferences held in universities. Turkcell Technology aims at sharing know-how and the experience in conducted research activities.

INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH

Turkcell Technology is an active participant of European collaborative research programs. As being a member of board in ITEA and CELTIC clusters of Eureka program, Turkcell Technology supports the establishment of European research agenda. Turkcell Technology also has a long history of research projects in Eureka programs, where we participated as a project leader, national leader or project partner. Turkcell Technology works closely with its national and global partners to initiate new projects in Eureka clusters and Horizon 2020 calls which are publicly funded by TÜBİTAK and European Commission.

Eureka ITEA CELTIC Horizon 2020

Eureka is a collaboration program focusing on industry driven R&D and innovation projects, which have potential to be commercialized in short term. Eureka program supports a wide variety of research and innovation projects through Eureka Network projects, Eurostars Program and Eureka Clusters,

As part of collaborative research activities, Turkcell Technology actively participates in ITEA and CELTIC clusters of Eureka platform. Turkcell Technology is represented in the board of the ITEA and CELTIC clusters.

ITEA

ITEA is a Eureka cluster, focusing on R&D and innovation projects in the software systems domain. Program aims at contributing to the economic growth and societal challenges through increasing the collaboration between industry, SMEs and universities. As being the first Turkish company in ITEA board, Turkcell Technology participates in R&D projects and continues its activities in the ITEA board.

CELTIC

Celtic is a Eureka cluster focusing on “Smart Connected World” paradigm. Celtic cluster mainly accepts project proposals on telecommunications, new media, future internet and applications & services. As a member of Celtic Core Group, Turkcell Technology is contributing to the definition of strategic roadmap, evaluation of projects as well as participating in research projects as a member and leader.

Horizon 2020

With nearly €80 billion of funding, Horizon 2020 is one of the biggest research and innovation programs. Horizon 2020 combines research and innovation and aims at achieving European excellence in science, industrial leadership and tackling societal challenges.

Turkcell Technology works with national and international partners to participate in the Horizon 2020 with the goal of expanding the expertise in new technologies, business domains and research fields.

Turkcell Technology collaborates with R&D centers of SME and Large Industry partners to develop novel solutions based on research and innovation. Publicly funded research programs of TÜBİTAK and European Commission provides valuable environment for collaboratively working on new technologies which have the potential to be commercialized.

Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs)

Turkcell Technology aims at increasing participation of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises to the research and innovation projects. Therefore those companies are invited, encouraged and guided to participate in European Research programs.

Start Ups

External innovation is as important as internal innovation. Start-up culture is one of the driving forces of global economy and a crucial source of innovation for large enterprises. Turkcell Technology continuously scouts start-up companies to develop business partnerships and help them to scale their products and sustain their businesses in the long term.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

Protecting the achievements of research is as important as conducting research. Turkcell Technology manages its patent application process with well-defined procedures. Each idea and invention is transformed into patent applications and carefully evaluated by our IPR committee. Selected ones are submitted to local and global patent institutes. Turkcell Technology is proud to be ranking 1st in patent applications among ICT companies in Turkey.
